Were it a perfect world, there would be an automatic 'follow target' macro for meleeing classes. (And if there is, why don't I know about it?)

It's not a problem when soloing or even in grouping, but in a 40-man raid, with all the mayhem and commotion and unfortunate camera angles, it's nearly impossible to see where the hell I am, let alone stay on the constantly moving target. How do the other melee-ers do it?

Since I've always had a hard time running after and keeping up with you, Ade and Janari, I long ago binded the "numlock 0" key to 'follow'.

Anyway, let's fiddle around tonight and see if we can make a macro to target the Main Assist, set to Follow and then target the target's target. Or something like that. Besides, it might be easier for you now that you have the newest version of CT Raid working.

How about...

/target Adeena; (or main assist / tank)
/assist; (Targets the above mentioned target)
/follow; (follows)

Yes, that's a great idea and that should totally work! ...in theory. Unfortunately follow breaks too easily -- I've tried that very macro, and even when following another rogue I have to keep moving to stay in range, so the best it does is get me to the target quickly (which is not to say it's not helpful when I'm super-laggy).

However, I've learned to stop groaning in frustration when I can't keep up, and instead pooling my energies into staying focused (ie, tunnel vision, like you said). Amazing how much that helps!

Well, I'm relieved to report that the whole staying-on-target problem wasn't me, it was my computer! Now that I have my super-sexy beefed-up 20" behemoth, I have about 40 more frames per second on average than my laptop (which in MC, gave me an average of 5 fps. FIVE!), and I have no trouble staying on any target ...unless it runs really fast and I'm feeling lazy. Rolling Eyes

The moral of the story is: Buying better computers just to enhance gaming experience is a GOOD thing! ehehe.

Agreed! It's a very worthwhile investment. DO IT!

When I was on my old comp, it would sometimes lag to a horrific 2 fps during heals. One second the main tank would have 100% health, the next frame 10% health. I used to have to predict what my next heals were to compensate for the lag.

Now, everything is smooth and fluid. Jumping was always a problem for me, especially those jumps in BFD and on boats. Running down the chain in Blackrock Mountain used to be hellish, as I would sometimes lag and fall into the lava. Now I can jump up and hop on stuff I couldn't reach before.

Like Ade recently said on a BFD run with Galamir, "White dwarves CAN jump!"

The other day I was turning in mats for thorium bros rep quests over and over and was thinking to myself, "how cool would it be to be able to spam a macro that just turned in the repeatable quests for me?"

Because jeez, after a while that becomes a lot of clicking...

Haha! This reminds of this one time on the WoW UI forum where someone asked if there was a macro to open up clams, and someone replied something akin to:

/lazy
